Don’t be alarmed!

alarm clock word of the week

You know something?  Our little bear has always been a very good sleeper.  She rarely wakes in the night, rarely wakes up at stupid o’clock and rarely plays up at bedtime (I mean, proper plays up).  I’m not trying to be smug, I’m just stating a fact.

But with the lighter mornings and the start of British Summer Time, her blackout blind is not, well, blacking out all that lovely light.

“Right,” I said to hubby, “we need to nip this in the bud!”

For some weeks now, we have been thinking about getting her a clock for her bedroom and now seemed like the perfect time.  I trawled the net and found one that is silent and doesn’t have luminous hands (bingo!).  We will be telling her that when the clock shows 6.30 it is time to get up for breakfast in the week (not sure what time we’ll say for the weekend yet!).  And if she touches the alarm on/off switch, the clock will break!…

I will report back.  Perhaps it will be another Word of the Week – either a ‘cracked it’ or ‘hmmmm!’

We will see 😉

…and that’s why my #WordoftheWeek with The Reading Residence is ‘clock’.
