Somewhere along the line, our little bear has been given a very large cuddly dalmation doggy.  Not a real one, obviously.  It’s not quite life-size but very nearly!

She absolutely loves having ‘101 Dalmatians’ read to her and while in town the other week we actually saw a beautiful, striking real-life fully grown dalmatian on a red lead.  If my memory serves me right, Pongo in 101 Dalmatians wears a red collar.

We pointed the dog out to our little bear, she squealed with delight, stood there open-mouthed in wonder for all of a few seconds and then told us the story of 101 Dalmatians… (as if we didn’t know – “again Mummy, again please!”)

So, this week, my #WordoftheWeek with The Reading Residence has got to be ‘spots’ because our little bear is very attached to the doggy variety at the moment!

I haven’t thought about 101 Dalmations for a long time -thanks for reminding me of the story. I’m going to hunt out the book for M! x

  2. Ah, this is so sweet! Our family dog when I was growing up was a dalmatian/border collie cross – she was spots all over, bar one black ear! So, I’ve always had a soft spot for spotty dogs 🙂 Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

I do think Dalmatians are especially cute so I’m with your little girl there 🙂

  4. For a moment there I thought you were going to say you had a litter of real Dalmatians at home! Think it was the picture! They are very cute and it’s lovely that your little bear got to see one.

I loved the original novel and its sequel, “The Midnight Barking” as a child. Fun to read your experience with spots! -Amy at http://www.momgoeson.wordpress.com
